Most often an uneven or patched screed, sometimes old adhesive that has to be scraped back, and occasionally damp. None of these are unusual, but they all affect what the new floor needs. That is why we assess before you commit to a laying date.
Sometimes, but not always. If the subfloor is flat, clean and dry, yes. If it needs levelling, the levelling compound has to cure first, and that takes time. Planning for a possible levelling stage avoids a stalled job.
Removing tiles is genuinely dusty, and fine dust travels beyond the room. We seal off access routes and protect what stays, but if you are living in the property, expect the area to be out of use and to need cleaning afterwards.
Yes, we bag and remove it from the property. Bear in mind that some condominiums and local councils charge for bulk waste disposal or require it to go out at specific times. Where that applies, we flag it before starting so it is not a surprise cost.
