Cost Factors

What affects the cost of Wall Repair & Touch-Up Painting?

Understanding what drives price helps you compare quotes fairly and prepare useful details for assessment.

Extent of the damaged area

A single patch is quick; damage across a whole wall takes considerably longer.

Mould severity

Light surface mould is treated readily; established growth needs more thorough treatment.

Whether the water source is fixed

We will not repair over an active leak — the repair simply fails again.

Colour matching

Matching an existing paint colour is often imperfect; painting the full wall gives a better result.

Our Process

How we carry out Wall Repair & Touch-Up Painting

01

Check the cause

We confirm whether the damp or leak that caused the damage has actually been resolved.

02

Strip back

Loose and peeling material is removed back to a sound surface.

03

Treat

Mould is treated where present, rather than painted over.

04

Fill and skim

Cracks and damage are filled and the surface skimmed flat.

05

Repaint

The repaired area is primed and repainted.

FAQs

Wall Repair & Touch-Up Painting — Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers to the questions customers ask us most about this service.

Will the repair be invisible?+

On a patch within a wall, usually not entirely. Even with the same paint, a fresh patch differs in sheen from paint that has aged on the wall. Painting the full wall corner to corner gives a much better result, and we will tell you when that is worth doing.

Can you repair the wall if the leak has not been fixed yet?+

We would rather not, and we will say so. Repairing over an active leak means the filler stays damp, the skim does not cure properly and the paint blisters again within weeks. Fix the water first, let the wall dry, then repair — that sequence is what makes it last.

How long does the wall need to dry before repair?+

Longer than most people expect, and it depends on how wet it got, how thick the wall is and how well the room ventilates. A wall that still reads damp will fail the repair. We check before starting rather than working to a fixed number of days.

Is anti-mould treatment really necessary?+

If there is mould, yes. Mould grows back through paint, and covering it simply delays its reappearance by a few months. Treatment kills what is there — but note that if the moisture keeps coming, the mould keeps returning, so treatment and fixing the damp go together.
