Wall Seepage & Damp Treatment in Kuala Lumpur & Selangor

Damp on an internal wall is usually water arriving from outside, not condensation. The repair belongs on the external face, and painting the inside before that is done simply hides it for a few months.

FAQs

Wall Seepage & Damp Treatment — Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers to the questions customers ask us most about this service.

Why can't you just seal it from inside?+

Because water is already in the wall by that point. An internal sealer traps moisture inside the plaster, and it typically pushes the problem sideways or blows the paint off a few months later. Stopping water at the external face is the repair that lasts.

How do I know it is seepage and not a leaking pipe?+

Timing is the clearest indicator. Seepage worsens after heavy rain and dries out in a run of dry days. A pipe leak is steady regardless of weather and often grows. If the patch never dries, we would investigate for a pipe before treating the external wall.

Can I repaint the inside straight away?+

Not straight away. The wall needs to dry out fully first, and how long that takes depends on how wet it got and how well the room ventilates. Painting over a wall that is still damp is the most common reason the same patch reappears.

Does this work for damp at the bottom of a wall?+

Not usually. Damp that is worst at skirting level and fades upward is more likely to be rising damp from the ground, and an external coating higher up will not touch it. That needs a different approach, and we will say so rather than sell you a coating that cannot help.
